Meet our Council

Mayor:

Joyce Corley

Mayor Corley was elected in 2019 and took office in 2020.  She was elected to a second term in 2023 and was sworn in January 2024.  Ms. Corley looks out for the individuals in this city as well as looking at the overall picture.  She is currently working to shore up the water infrastructure in Molena.  One notable achievement during her first term as mayor is bringing broadband to Molena.

Christie McCrary - Post 1 - Public Safety

Councilmember Riggins is a former educator with strong ties to Molena.  Her husband Tim McCrary is the son of Lewis and Betty McCrary who were turkey farmers here in Molena during Molena's time as the turkey capital.  Roots run deep and Mrs. McCrary cares just as deeply about the welfare of the individuals who make up our great city.

Willie McDowell, Jr. - Post 2

Councilmember McDowell has a history of service to his community as well as to this country.  Rev. McDowell has a heart for the younger generation to see that they have the opportunity to grow up to be men and women of distinction and honor.  He has stressed the importance of maintaining Molena as a safe and healthy community of neighbors who care about each other and look out for each other's needs.  His goals are to ensure this community continues to thrive and grow.

Councilmember D. Riggins joins us to complete the term vacated by Allison Turner.  Councilmember Turner's term will expire December 2024.  He will be sworn in once again in January.  His term runs from January 2025 through December 2028. He keeps an eye on the city of Molena and strives to ensure we will remain a viable community long into the future.  Councilmember Damon Riggins also serves as the budget officer for Molena.  He typically prepares the budget for the new year and proposes it to Council for approval.
